Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is built on the American Common Core State Standards (CCSS), integrated with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) to provide a comprehensive and modern education. With a teaching staff of at least 60% native English speakers, we ensure students receive high-quality instruction in an inclusive environment.

Educational Stages at Al Forsan International School Kindergarten (KG1 -KG3)

At Al Forsan International School, Kindergarten provides an environment that promotes learning through experience and exploration.

  • The program is designed to educate young learners to become responsible, lifelong learners while firmly rooting them in the Arabic language and Islamic culture.
  • Kindergarten students work, learn, and play cooperatively in groups.
  • The curriculum focuses on academic, social, and emotional development, fostering a positive, caring, and stimulating learning environment.

Elementary School

The Elementary program lays a strong foundation for rigorous learning in higher grades.

Grades 1–3:

  • Boys and girls are located on the girls’ campus during this stage.
  • Core subjects include English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, all taught in English.
  • Arabic and Islamic Studies are major components of the curriculum, following the standards set by the Ministry of Education.
  • Non-Arabic speakers can attend Arabic language classes starting in grade 2.

Grades 4–6:

  • Core subjects remain consistent: English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, taught in English.
  • Arabic and Islamic Studies continue as key subjects.
  • French is offered as an elective, alongside scheduled classes in Physical Education, Computer, and Art for all students.

Middle School

In grades 7–9, the Middle School program emphasizes developing students’ responsibility and initiative for their own learning.

  • The curriculum prepares students for future academic and career challenges by offering next-generation learning experiences.
  • Subjects include Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, History, Arabic, Islamic Studies, Physical Education, and Information Technology.
  • Elective courses are available and count towards high school graduation credits.

High School

The High School program is designed to prepare students for their future academic and professional pursuits.

  • Alongside core subjects, students explore additional courses such as Language Arts, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, World History, and Business Studies.
  • These courses aim to equip students for university and college admissions worldwide.
  • In grade 10, students select a pathway: English Literature Discipline or Math and Science Pathway, which determines their schedule through grade 12.
